Personal Branding Tricks for Freelancers
● What is Personal Branding?
Many of us do not understand. And don't want to understand. Even if I understand, I don't want to do it. But personal branding for yourself and your business is very important. Also, the importance of personal branding is immense for freelancers.
Personal branding is a name that everyone will recognize. I have to promote myself in such a way that I don't need to call anyone, everyone will find me. In other words, personal branding is basically introducing yourself or your personality in front of everyone. And online personal branding means opening yourself up on various social media so that everyone can find you.
And for freelancers, the importance of branding is immense. What's the harm if extra clients come from social media in addition to the freelance marketplace? And if you give good service to social media clients they will give you long term work.
● Have you ever thought, when we hear about the good aspects of various products or organizations through various media, only then we buy the product or accept any service of that organization. After all, the brand value of that product or organization increases to us. For example, don't talk about cat's-eye, if someone tells you, I will buy you a pair of jeans from the second floor of New Market. .. Or said Let's buy jeans from Cat's Eye .. Which impression do you like? This is brand value.

Now think about yourself, excluding the product or organization. If your good points can be communicated to others, then your acceptance or brand value will increase a lot. Everyone will get to know your work, interests, abilities and qualifications well. Clients will be waiting to give you work.
●● Personal branding offers benefits that:
* Creates a credibility of oneself to others.
* Increases online influence.
* Builds a value on what you are good at.
* Increases professional network.
* Secures work and career.
* New job/business opportunities are created.
* Whatever you want to say, everyone will listen carefully, because the value of your words will increase.
* Later it will be much easier to start your business with your product/service and get success.
●How to increase brand value?
1) Your presence on Google
Any person will Google first to know you, so see if your social media profiles are coming up in Google's search results. If it does not come, you can strengthen yourself in Google by using the website (https://brandyourself.com) to refine the search results.
2) Google My Business (GMB)/ Google Listings/Features –
If we search with the name of many people in Google, it shows the status of this feature. This is Google My Business. Create your own profile here. In this, if someone searches you on Google, Google will show you in a featured form on the right side, which is called Google Listing, here your personal information, website, social media profile, reviews can be seen. Moreover, if you search with your name or your brand on Google Maps, you can set up your location on the map. You can also showcase your services/products here.
Isn't it funny? You don't have to be a celebrity or a special personality for this. Go to https://business.google.com, make your own name a feature. And now mobile a code or email can be easily verified.
3) Clean presence on social media
LinkedIn, facebook, twitter, instagram, pinterest, reddit, quora.com, blogger.com, snapchat and other social media can be used as unique means of personal branding.
For example, LinkedIn is a great place for professionals. Here various information like educational qualification of a person, name of work institution, job description, special recognition are given. Many organizations find their qualified employees from LinkedIn. So building a good LinkedIn profile and connecting with others has the potential to create new career opportunities. I will give a detailed blog on Linkedin Profile, Linkedin Connection, Job Search and Linkedin Outreach Inshallah. Similarly, your presence on other social media is very important.
4) Post regularly on social media about the subject you are an expert in:
Regularly talk/post on your social media about what you are an expert on. For example, you are an expert in website design or politics, or current fashion, or business/finance/banking, or any specific service/product. Think about your future and decide on a few topics and start talking about those topics.
If you're a graphic designer, post some product/logo pictures you've made, what the brand guidelines were like, what the color palette was like. If you are a web developer, post a picture of a website, tell everyone what platform you use. How did you do it, what features are there, how long did it take?
Post some informative blogs / stories from time to time. You can take help of chatgpt for this. Write about a new update in the industry you work in or a tool. For example, if you are a web developer, what new updates have come in WordPress, how Elementor is including ai, etc. This will let people know that you always keep yourself updated with technology. This will build the trust of the clients on you.
In 2015, one day a buyer inboxed me a fiver. Discuss everything. After the budget, timeline are all finalized, the client says give me some time. Came back after 10-15 minutes and said "I can hire you for sure." I wondered "What did you think?" Then the client said I searched your name on Google and came across some of your social media profiles. I saw your google reviews and articles. You have enough efficiency."
You understand that through social media presence, your client's attraction towards you will increase and a brand value will be created. Later you can easily sell any of your products/services to these followers, because they trust you.
5) Write blog/content that is standardized and relevant to the current situation:
How do I start writing LinkedIn articles, Facebook pages, Instagram/Medium? What to write about? Write Bengali or English?
Even if you make a mistake while writing or because of lack of practice, write it down. After a month you will see 70% improvement by listening and listening to people's feedback. The remaining 30% is fixed by writing itself. Many people think that writing is wrong! You will make mistakes, you will learn a lot, but you will try to write something all day long. Bengali, Hindi, Arabic, English or any language.
But I am not asking to make content by copying from somewhere. This must not be done. Because you have to be transparent all the time. All are brain productions. You can write about many things with just a little thought.
Let me tell you a story, you are new in this industry today. You copied from somewhere and started writing/blog as your own. Many people may not know you today. After 5 years maybe everyone will know you, many will follow you. Then if someone sees the previous post while browsing the old posts, they will not think at all to taunt you. So always be transparent. If you like the content, please share it or post it and give credit below.
And from today start writing a little about what you know. Slowly the writing will go to standard level. When I see my post from 5-8 years ago, I smile. The situation was that Bengali and English were matching.
6) Creating regular audio/video podcasts : short videos / reels
Social influencers in foreign countries, not just the blogs they write. They produce various audio podcasts, videos on YouTube. Just a little tweaking of your blog's words and telling them in front of the camera - a beautiful video podcast is created, which you can upload to your YouTube channel or Facebook as a video. The REACH of video is 200 times higher than written, it is a proven fact. And Facebook, Instagram and YouTube are now promoting short videos or reels a lot. Short videos are a great opportunity for you to grow your profile.
Also can Live/Podcast on Facebook. You can talk live about something you know, or you can invite 2-3 other people and do a discussion type podcast. Like you're a Facebook Ads expert. You discussed some new updates on Facebook's Ads.
7) Social media group discussion including facebook, linkedin, reddit, quora.com and helping others :
Facebook, LinkedIn, reddit, quora.com, and other social media include the opportunity to present yourself well by joining various groups. You can join the group of the subject in which you are an expert, you can post and discuss, and you can give suggestions to those who have different problems in the comments on the posts made by others. But be sure to know the rules of the group.
We are not usually active on reddit and quora.com. Although it takes time to get results on these 2 platforms, if you don't spam, you can easily get enough clients from these platforms. For example a quora.com asked which of the web cms is better. Let's say you know WordPress very well. You suggested WordPress to him in the comments, and also made some pretty good points about why WordPress is better. But you should not promote yourself in the beginning. In this way, you will see many replies to your comment, some are supporting you, some are not. You talk to them politely. Why are you right etc. This way people will see that you are the best in your niche. Then clients will start coming to you. I just gave an example. Inshallah, I will discuss reddit and quora.com in detail.

In this way people will slowly recognize you and a brand value will be created. Be sure to post relevant content that will benefit everyone.

8) Having a personal/ blog website of your own and posting regularly
If possible, create a personal portfolio or blog website where you can always share your posts. Ex: I have a blog website where I write articles. https://whatminhazulasifwrite.com/
Organize your Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram blogs/posts on the website. If you know seo and can rank some blogs on Google, then there is no place. Lots of visitors will come who will know about your skills and specialties. Put a link on the blog website from where they will know about your product/service. Have a consultancy option where you can advise clients for free. 80% of leads can be converted into clients if done properly by consultancy.
If it is not possible then open your own blog website on Google (https://blogger.com) for free. And post regularly on your topic, it will build your brand value on Google and your content will be seen on Google without any SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Although this subject is somewhat technical, you can do it if you try.
9) LinkedIn is one of the most powerful platforms for job finding and branding.
Many of us can't organize our LinkedIn profile properly.
LinkedIn profile layout, LinkedIn skill endorsement, recommendation, open to work, certification, work experience should be arranged very nicely. LinkedIn has great options for posting as well as writing articles. A lot of project basis and long time job postings come up on LinkedIn. But you need to know how to find your target client on LinkedIn, how to connect with him. There are also many tools for LinkedIn automation.
LinkedIn Jobs Free is also a great job hunting option. I will give a detailed post on LinkedIn inshallah.
